Whether it’s the basketball court or life, Harmony doesn’t give in. Regardless of the challenge, she takes it to the hoop and shoots to win. That’s why this joyful and persistent teen wanted to share her love of basketball with potential families.

Basketball isn’t just something that brings her happiness, it’s a means of connection. It ties her to the people who are important to her now and it’s something that she hopes will build a bond with a family in the future.

But don’t worry… she doesn’t need a family who is currently talented in the sport. Harmony is willing to teach a family some basketball drills and skills. Most importantly, a family that will share common interests, support her talents, and cheer her on is what she wants more than anything.

Harmony wants to share her love of basketball with potential families.

Harmony has spent too much time in foster care, so she hasn’t been able to consistently be on a basketball team. Her team experiences so far have been positive and she hopes to get back to that once she’s part of the most important team of all… a family.

“Some of us 14 and 15 years olds have been abandoned almost our whole lives or have raised ourselves or have been through a lot,” says Harmony. “So when people take us in we feel more comfortable and know that somebody actually cares about us and actually loves us.”

Knowing that you are cared about and loved isn’t much to ask. And Harmony is one basketball-loving teen who is absolutely loveable both on and off the court.

We’ve all heard of “hoop dreams” but Harmony’s basketball dreams have a specific component that would mean the world to her. If she could have a permanent family in the stands rooting for her, watching her play on a team, and cheering just for her… well, Harmony says that would probably make her cry.

Whether it’s a game of HORSE at a driveway basketball hoop, watching a WNBA game on TV, driving Harmony to practice, or cheering her on at a game, the support of a family would make all the difference for Harmony.

What’s more, Harmony sees basketball as a way to create and strengthen bonds with a new family. There is no doubt that Harmony wants to be adopted. She made the effort to create this in-depth profile so families could learn more about her in the hopes of finding the family that is meant for her.

One thing that stands out about Harmony is her ever-present smile. Perhaps that’s because when MARE met with her it was on the basketball court, and the sport is obviously a big source of joy for Harmony.

She has room in her life and capacity in her heart for so much more. A permanent, loving, and supportive family would definitely add to the joy in this teen’s life. She would do well with a single parent or two parents who are patient, understanding, and hopefully interested in basketball, too! She would do well as the youngest child in the home and loves pets. Could your family be the winning team for Harmony?
